“Leverage” season 5 continues this Sunday with episodes 9, “The Frame-Up Job,” and 10, “The Rundown Job,” which will see the team splitting up, with Nate and Sophie in the first, and Eliot, Parker, and Hardison in the second. The Leverage Examiner chatted with Aldis Hodge about this season and the summer finale, and while he couldn’t reveal much, he did drop some fun teasers about what to expect in this Sunday’s “Leverage” episode. Hodge called “The Rundown Job” his favorite episode of the season, explaining, “That’s where we break up, and it’s just the kids.”
Examiner.com: What’s coming up for Hardison this season?
Aldis Hodge: Hardison this season…Well, we have an amazing episode…we shot it 512, so it may air in that order…we did a little special where we see Nate and Sophie and their day, and then we do a little special in another episode where we split it up and we see Parker, Hardison, and Eliot take off and do their thing for an episode. It’s kind of like how last year we split up: we did boys’ night and girls’ night. Now it’s kind of like, we got the parents, and then we got the kids. In that episode, “The Rundown Job,” for Parker, Hardison, and Eliot, you get to see them all challenged, [with] new responsibilities, and they all got to step up in a different way. It’s a really great episode. …Other than that, I can’t tell them what their challenge is, but you’ll see where Hardison has to deal with some different things.
Examiner.com: You mentioned “The Rundown Job,” and the episode synopsis states that you guys will be working with Adam Baldwin‘s character to prevent a biological attack, which is pretty big. You guys have taken down corrupt business owners, but going up against a terrorist is very different.
Hodge: This one, like I said, they all step up and challenge different responsibilities within themselves because this one is, we’re dealing with national warfare here and we’re dealing with real lives, we’re dealing with real death and basically it’s kind of on our shoulders at this one point to stop this potential national terrorist attack. We have yet to challenge that before in the past, we’ve challenged individual issues, but right now, we’re talking hundreds and thousands and possibly millions of deaths that could occur. It’s on our shoulders to either stop this or get out of it, so it’s a really fine line, because it’s just not small time right now. It never really has been small time, but this is really the big leagues this episode.
Examiner.com: With the team separating and Nate and Sophie dealing with Sterling, is Hardison in any scenes with him?
Hodge: They got Mark Sheppard, who plays Sterling, and we got Adam Baldwin [who plays Colonel Vance], but Sterling does come into play a little later in the season. Actually, I can’t reveal where or when, but he does come into play later in the season with the team again.
“Leverage” season 5 continues Sunday at 9 p.m. on TNT. What are you hoping to see from the summer finale?
